Tucked away in a tiny corner of East London is a forgotten success story that is Careline.  Careline became a household name in the seventies and eighties, providing much needed telephone counselling.  Their parent charity the National Children’s Home began a series of closures.  As the UK wide closure plan turned southwards a team of determined East Enders began to fight back and saved Careline as a single national centre.  Now from their small offices in Ilford, the dedicated team of forty volunteers receive over 3000 calls every single month.
