Strategy

The strategic direction of Careline is directed by a Board of Trustees, elected annually by the members. The Trustees also review each year, key policies such as; compliance, fundraising, recruitment, equal opportunities.

The Trustees include one volunteer representative members. In addition to the Trustees, the Board comprises two unpaid professional advisors and one unpaid clinical advisor.

In Feb 2006, the Trustees reviewed their strategic plan, which is large to upload here (but available on application).

 

Operations

Careline employs one fult time adminstrator and one part time manager who are responsible for the day to day operational matters and the management of our services. This includes compliance with the organsiational membership codes requried by bodies (such as GHR, BACP, and THA) as well as internal policies and procedures.

Our paid staff are key to recruiting and selecting volunteers, advising on best practice and delivery of continuous professional development.

Our paid staff report directly to the Vice Chair, who ensures that staff are consulted by the Trustees, on the operational impact of all strategic decisions.



Clinical Excellence

Terry Cope MSc, Chartered Psychologist and Chartered Counselling Psychologist is a Chartered Member of the British Pychological Society (BPS).  Terry works with our volunteers and two salaried staff to ensure that the needs of our volunteer counsellors (both skills and their emotional needs) are met. 

Contracts

In addition to low cost maintenance and premises contracts, Careline contract the delivery of our Volunteer Training. The fees paid are published in our annual accounts. This contract is reviewed each year.

Careline engage two clinical supervisors to look after the mental health and well-being of the volunteers. The clinical supervisors report to the Vice Chair. Each volunteer receives an average of three supervision sessions per annum. The fees paid are published in our annual accounts.
