To help underpin the growth, Careline seeks proactive,
engaging volunteers who will provide good governance and leadership.
In addition to the statutory duties, each trustee should use any
specific skills, knowledge or experience they have to help the board of trustees

Marketing, Public Relations, Training, Recruitment & Selection,
Fundraising, Information Systems, Counselling, Youth Skills)
- To develop and manage through to completion, agreed projects
- Organising and attending regular and ad-hoc meetings
- Scrutinising board papers
- Liasing with other organisations and voluntary bodies
- Focusing on key issues
- Providing guidance on new initiatives
- Other issues as they arise
What we look for in a Trustee?
- Commitment to the organisation
- Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
- Strategic vision
- Good, independent judgement
- Ability to think creatively
- Willingness to speak their mind
- Understanding and acceptance of the legal duties,
responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Adopt Nolan's seven principles of public life: selflessness,
integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and

Whilst the role of Trustee is unpaid, expenses are reimbursed and it
remains highly rewarding, contributes greatly to a growing charity and
offers a degree of autonomy.
